FOR GREATER GLORY: The True Story Of Cristiada

Music Composed by James Horner
(The Amazing Spider-Man, Avatar, The Karate Kid)

What price would you pay for freedom? In the exhilarating action epic FOR GREATER GLORY an impassioned group of men and women each make the decision to risk it all for family, faith and the very future of their country, as the film's adventure unfolds against the long-hidden, true story of the 1920s Cristero War — the daring people’s revolt that rocked 20th Century North America. Academy Award® nominee Andy Garcia headlines an acclaimed cast as General Gorostieta, the retired military man who at first thinks he has nothing personal at stake as he and his wife (Golden Globe nominee Eva Longoria) watch Mexico fall into a violent civil war. The stellar multinational cast includes the legendary Peter O’Toole, rapidly rising star Oscar Isaac (Drive), recording star and actor Ruben Blades (Safe House), Bruce Greenwood (Star Trek, Super 8), Nestor Carbonell (The Dark Knight Rises), Bruce McGill (Lincoln), Santiago Cabrera (Heroes, Che), Oscar®-nominated Catalina Sandino Moreno (Maria Full Of Grace) and Eduardo Verástegui (Bella).

Oscar®-winning composer James Horner provides a thrilling, expansive score for 100-piece orchestra and choir.

FOR GREATER GLORY will roll out in theatres throughout the summer.

Great to know this is coming out. As robustly a "Horner" score as you can get, and the movie is surprisingly good as well.

Nestor Carbonell (The Dark Knight Rises)

And more interestingly, Señor Senior, Jr. on Kim Possible.

Saw the movie recently and it was too preachy for its own good. In fact, I spent much of the film wanting the people against the Church to win.

Had they downplayed the religion and put more emphasis on the war, it would have been better.

That is good news. For Horner lovers, this score is a real treat.

I totally forgot he was Batmanuel. He was a real highlight of that show (much like his apparent eyeliner is a real distraction in his Dark Knight role).

This was actually humorously mentioned during one of his interviews on the "Lost" DVD sets... he actually doesn't wear eyeliner, it is simply the natural coloring around his eyes and he admits that it resembles eyeliner.

This is great news! Good old Varese smile
I was beginning to think this one was going to slip through the cracks and be the first unreleased Horner score in many years! (even Boy In Striped Pyjamas at least got a download release).
I don't care about the re-use, just gimme The Horner!!!

I was not aware of this " For Greater Glory". I thought the OP was making a pun and insinuating Varese was releasing "Glory" complete! Damn.

That's a better cover than the DVD/BluRay release that arrives Sept.11/12. The movie looks like a winner from the Amazon reviews. Hopefully it's a powerful, emotional score as well. And Andy Garcia is excellent in everything he does.

The movie was propaganda but very well made. They didn't tell you that the Cristeros murdered several teachers in their area for teaching evolution and it just happens that the Catholic Church is waging a freedom of religion war against Pres. Obama.

But hey the music was great.
