Been thoroughly enjoying the new Warner Archive release of Season 1 of the great, underrated detective series HARRY O starring David Janssen, and with a memorable main theme by maestro Billy Goldenberg. I think the melancholy first version is best. Hear them all here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9FrTfQxRjK8

That was really nice! And yes, the first is best. Great television theme, by a master of the genre...

Thanks for the heads up! Ditto! A great show, and 70s Goldenberg was incredible! I can only hope that some of that material (from HARRY O and COLUMBO especially) can be rescued from oblivion and made available on CD. Seems like much of the individual HARRY O episode scoring chores were handled by different composers, often working off Goldenberg's main theme.

I know Tony Rome lived on a boat. And Lon McQ had a boat. And Jim Rockford had a caravan. Oh and an answerphone. And Ironside had a wheelchair. Did Harry O have a boat? I cant remember.

Harry O had a boat, The Answer, that he was continuously trying to repair. Haven't finished the series, but I don't know if he ever actually gets it on the water.

QUINCY M.E. lived on a boat. The SURFSIDE 6 guys lived on and worked out of a houseboat. Sonny Crockett of MIAMI VICE lived on a boat. So did B.L. Stryker, Rick Simon (of Simon & Simon), MacGyver, the guys from Riptide and (the only female example I can think of) Kate Reed from Fairly Legal. Until her boat blew up, that is. Forgot Crockett!!! drat. Damn cindy lover, you beat me to Riptide!!! Must be the only two people on the planet who remember that one, apart from a few aussies on this site! Did skippy live on a boat????!!!!! How about Flipper????
