Townson will host the evening and present highlights from the label's extensive library, featuring music for the program that will include music from

Looks like your short season will be jam packed with film music!
I am buying my tickets soon.

Too bad you didn't hook up with Varese in time for your Halloween concert.
Varese is Halloween central!
They released practically all the OMEN, NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET, HALLOWEEN, SCREAM, GRUDGE scores and William's DRACULA, Morricone's THE THING, Carpenter's THE FOG, Shore's THE FLY, Young's GHOSTRIDER and a ton of others. Not to mention all the Joel McNeely's recodings of Herrmann like PSYCHO, VERTGO and THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL.

Is this Varese association going into next year?

If I'm still around by then, I'd like to see the Anniversary show, but it's like a year from now.

This offer ends monday. They have not announced one composer yet and I think I know why.
When the type of names Varese will attract show up it will eventually be clear anybody who cares about film music will be there. But to reward us loyal followers who KNOW what this will be like and have been there and realize the level of awesomeness that awaits us, they give us this opportunity.

So for those on the fence. Take your time. When the names start rolling in you will pay the higher amount gladly.

I'd love to take adavantage of the discounted price sadly that would require getting paid on a regular basis...sigh...being self employed sucks a lot lately.

Due to some system problems the 30% discount on tickets has been extended to October 31st for those who couldn't get through in time for the previous deadline.

Last day for 30% off tickets.
Again, once these composers who will attend and/or conduct start being listed you might kick yourself for not taking advantage of this.

Since Steven Allen Fox said this is selling REALLY well already I thought I would bump this early. This will be THE film music concert to see this year!

so far conductor Steven Allen is joined by 1st guest conductor Joel McNeely. My guess is there will be a weekly update on this one.

Diego Navarro was announced as the second guest conductor last week. Between him Joel McNeely, and, of course, Steven Allen Fox I figure the "classic film scores" will be in good hands (with possibly some of their own compositions thrown in).

But today the first guest conductor-composer of the night has been announced.

JOHN POWELL

Since HOW TO TRAIN MY DRAGON was a Varese release you can guess my choice for him that night. There was mentioned weekly announcements and there are still 9 weeks to go. So I am impressed and curious to see how long it will take before this concert sells out.

Whoa, just noticed this! I was SO impressed with his selections for the Silvestri concert. Now I found he did Oscar selections too. Way to go Victor!

It sure was great to see Bill at the podium of the Oscars. Great great guy. Can't wish him enough success. Picked up the newest Josh Groban album and noticed Bill Ross had a part in the string arrangements on the best songs, why of course. Josh has GREAT musical taste.
