The 2012 Ryder Cup starts on Friday, at Medinah Country Club, Chicago.
I always look forward to this biennial tournament. Of course I am cheering for the European Team (or 'Team Europe' as they now are called, for whatever reason), but as the home team usually has an advantage, many people are making Team USA as slight favourites. I think it will be close, possibly even finishing in a 'tie'.
I suspect that the USA will run away with it for once. I also think that the crowd will be raucous in a way that used to be called "not cricket".
Woods has never really punched his weight at the Ryder Cup and now that he's back at number two in the world he may just hit his stride here*. My prediction is that it'll be all over bar the shouting by the end of Saturday.
We started well, and I thought we'd win it for sure, and then we lost it. Europe did a fine job. What a come back. Congratulations!! (Olay, Olayoalyolayolay oh.) (Or however it is sung and spelled.)
an exciting tournament by all accounts although seems there is discord in the american camp. there were some experts saying that without Woods, mickelson would step up to the plate but they said it was the u.s rookies who brought home the bulk of the american points. And now there seems to be major friction between captain watson and the abrasive Mickelson in press conference. ooh er. Rose was the star it seems. Donaldson got the winning point. and europe won 3 out of the 5 sessions.
it seems the two teams had a table tennis tournament in the games room afterwards - and the americans whupped em!
