Didn't the email from GNP simply say that they hold the rights and nothing could be released without their involvement?

Could that mean a label, other than GNP, could release some of this music with their involvement?

Or am I just being overly optimistic on an Internet forum?

I was hoping for a complete TV score to "Yesterday's Enterprise." My hearing isn't that great lol, but I thought some selections sounded different on TV?

Yesterday's Enterprise too! The irony is that GNP grabbed the most celebrated episodes for their CDs because, at the time, they were the only label putting Trek out. So now it's those very same episodes which are "trapped". It would be very cool if GNP would work with LLL to re-issue/remaster the lot.

Chattaway's Tin Man should definitely find a place - remastered - on one of LLL's sets. It was his first score for the series and stands out to this day for its beauty and creativity. Everything from GNP's Chattaway disc should be improved and transported over to TNG vol 3 or to the 50th set IMHO.

Absolutely. In general i think there should be more Chattaway music than McCarthy music released.

Yes. This was pretty much confirmed by Lukas when commenting on it.

Agreed, lots of great McCarthy has been released, but much less Chattaway proportionally. Hopefully with Voyager being Chattaway's series in a way (pilot, finale, most of the "big" episodes) we will get much more of his music on the Voyager set, at least.

Kind of agree, although I didn't really minded the focus on McCarthy's output on the released sets so far - kind of made sense, since he was the main composer for all these shows and he scored the most episodes of them.

But yeah, Voyager was Chattaway's show, so I'd love to see the focus on his music for a change as well.

A CD with the complete scores to Tin Man, A Fistful of Datas and Sub Rosa would be an outstanding album! I think all three would fit on one disc.

Oh well, wishful thinking! wink

That sort of common sense reasoning is incompatible with my desire to be outraged!
