I'm still hoping for his beautiful score to Mustang Country.

Any word on this Ford?

Always loved Holdridge's American Pop Overture. An orchestral adaptation of Lynyrd Skynyrd's Freebird for French Horn and strings. Just love it!

"I actually wrote to Holdridge over Facebook about this a year or so ago, and he was very flattered. He mentioned a label was working on this - I'm not gonna name names! - but that the tapes were a little rough, so it'd take some TLC to make them presentable for CD"
---------------------------
This is seriously cool news. Thanks bobb.
Based on some of the miracles Kritzerland have performed in past times with 'rough tapes', I hope THE PACK might be their premiere Lee Holdridge score release smile

I've just noticed today (Tuesday) ends in a Y, so it's time for this question again...? smile

I'd like to see a complete beauty and the beast the tv show. Maybe a box set.

Indeed. Turns out I wrote to him in 2011 though, eek. Let's hope this hasn't bee abandoned. It's a superb thematic horror score.

I'd pull my molars out at the chance to buy a BatB CD box... (but the majority of the episodes were scored by Don Davis - I think Holdridge only did a handful in Season 1.)

If GNP continues to expand their back catalog beyond Trek I'd really love an expanded/remastered Old Gringo.

But honestly the Holdridge CD I'd like most of all is another volume of his concert music!

I certainly wouldn't complain about this either! Time to go listen to that Violin Concerto No. 2 again!

Damn good, isn't it?

Also, if there's any chance Varese would do it (probably not?) I'd buy a 2 disc DE of Mists of Avalon. Only thing that gives me a little hope it *might* happen some day is the fact that it was unexpectedly one of their best sellers (if not the top one) that year.

I listened to my "CHARLES GERHARDT CONDUCTS THE FILM MUSIC OF LEE HOLDRIDGE" cd today and it left me longing for something Holdridge this year! Please.

I hear ya ed.
I started this thread December 2012 and if I'm not mistaken, we've only had the expanded Beastmaster since then!!
I really think some new Holdridge is loooooooonnngg overdue.

He's 73 today!
Happy Birthday Mr Holdridge.
There's still a mine of great stuff of his out there unheard on CD (or only on LP).
How about someone releasing a present!! wink

I know El Pueblo Del Sol just came out, but that don't count (cos I already have it) wink

What I've been heartened by is the large number of Holdridge works available on Spotify.

I'd only ever had a few of his recordings in my collection (the concert works and the suites with Gerhardt, Mists of Avalon, and my very favorites old and new JL Seagull and Into Thin Air). I have picked up several of his documentary scores, thanks most recently to edwina who had chimed in above some time ago, and one of the Beastmaster versions.

But now on Spotify I can listen to some of these albums (not the docs though) and a lot more - 20 added in the last year: Heidi, Tuskegee Airmen, Texas, El Pueblo, Pastime, One Against the Wind, Call of the Wild are just some. Not being an expert on Holdridge, it's a blessing for me.
