Im sure that article is improperly wording it. FilmMusicReporter.com reported back in January that Craig Armstrong was hired.

OH, scary, other sources in a search are now saying it's "confirmed" and list the score being by Jay-Z, The Bullets, and somebody named Jeymes Samuel. Armstrong had complete most, if not all his score. Woowzers. This sort of thing is supposed to normally go the other way; Jay-Z does score, score is rejected, Armstrong does replacement.

I take it you've never seen a Baz Luhrman film before...this is what he does. I personally don't like his style, but anyone expecting a straight period movie with an appropriate period score from him should have known better. Have you tried his "Australia" (2008)? You might be pleasantly surprised . . . I was.

I want to start 2013 by being very optimistic and saying that we should all wait for the end result before being disappointed by a score that isnĀ“t even written yet. Having said that, judging from the trailer, I fear that this "Gatsby"-version is so tuned up in every respect that it already feels like a parody to me. With Jay Z providing the score these images will probably be stylized even further. Could that work? Is this a return to "Moulin Rouge" ? There it did work for me - although I was mostly interested in Nicole Kidman in that movie.
