This movie is released here in Belgium (and France) today but there's no mention of a soundtrack anywhere. Maybe James Luckard can shed some light on the situation? According to Variety it's a string driven score.

Sorry - I had no idea such a film had been made, let alone was released. Here in Australia we've had no publicity for it whatsoever. Our huge cinema chains currently feature Skyfall, Hobbit, Les Miserables, Jack Reacher, and animated fare. Lincoln doesn't come out here til February. Not a peep about Renoir in any preveiws or "Coming Soon" posters. I suspect it may do the rounds of the art-house circuit and inner city independents, should it ever get here. It may be a sign that our popular culture is becoming increasingly ignorant of the past. Folks here could probably tell you who Justin Beiber is, or dance Gangnam style. I wouldn't be surprised if the same folks had no idea who Renoir was. Perhaps if the film starred Daniel Radcliffe, Robert Pattison, or the aforementioned Beib it may get a look in. Cheers

Unfortunately the movie is not showing around Argentan but I hope I'll be able to watch it end of next week. Third collaboration between film director Gilles Bourdos and Desplat.

Sadly I think there will be no CD for this. The first Desplat score with no release in years, I think. There appears to have been no French CD, and nobody appears to have bought the film for American release. Pity.

Once the film has some sort of commercial release, a CD release will follow, so don't lose all hope. The film already came and went in France at the beginning of the month. It screened at Cannes almost a year ago, but nobody bought it for the US, so it isn't coming out here. Unfortunately I don't think we're getting a CD.

There's plenty of score in it, and the music is quite good (I actually saw it and REALITY back-to-back a few days ago, so it was a nice Desplat Sunday). Sad that there's no sign of a CD. If nothing else, it would be a great choice for a Varese contemporary limited.
