I thought this was kind of cute; un-named cartoon character conducting an orchestra, which I then set to two similar images:

Actor Rob Morrow is a dead ringer for James Horner.

How about Alan Rickman as Alexandre Desplat?

Desplat has an Armand Assante look to him. But your mileage may vary, of course.

The Jon Pertwee/ Jerry Goldsmith one is good. But can anyone find a picture of Dustin Hoffman where he looks EXACTLY like Jerry G? Did Hoffman have a ponytail in SLEEPERS...?

Christoph Waltz as James Newton Howard.

If he can pull off an American accent, Waltz IS Howard.

My gosh, what a hilarious thread! Great choices, board.

Would agree with David Ogden Stiers for John Williams as DOS is, like Williams, also a fine classically trained musician (and, as was pointed out, he's also a conductor) Richard Attenborough also a great choice.

For Christophe Beck I would submit the director John Moore, for John Barry, Jude Law.

Dead ringer: he's no longer with us, but Richard Stahl, a supporting actor on numerous seventies/eighties US comedy series, as Henry Mancini.

Sorry but my penis looks more like Alex North than that dwarf from THE HOBBIT.

And that's no offense to Maestro North.

Off topic, but the image Thor posted of Elfman...

...brought to mind another type of assocation...

...film composers cast as famous film characters.
