The lack of replies from those ever-romantic FSMers begs the question: If Valentine's Day is too commercial, what do you lotharios do for your lovemates the other non-commercial 300+ days of the year?
Ha!
I'm always doing romantic things like leaving little love notes in the coffee caddy or buying flowers (never buy them to apologise) or little treats. Sometimes I buy romantic cards or if i'm away in business I send a postcard.
And I often like to cook a full romantic dinner and often put on the candles and music.
I should add that the treat card my did for his missus that said "This voucher entitles the holder to a bum kiss" - she got her own back by fixing it around the dog's neck and sending it in to my mate in the lounge, wagging its tail!!
Every year I take The Missus up to a sort of mountain cabin (at the same lake where we camp each summer). It's reasonably secluded but it's luxurious with nothing to do but go for amazing walks on the snowy hills, eat steaks and laze away in the jacuzzi tub or sit by the fireplace.
We skipped the last few years but I started it again this year. (It's expensive--which is why I had to skip a few--but the mental health we regain is priceless.) Two nights just ain't enough.
After having read so many posts at these boards over the past fourteen years, I have to laugh at the thought of some of you people even attempting anything resembling human interaction.

Oh, it is. Of course, I'm sure that electricity and modern plumbing have a great deal to do with how fantastic the cabin is. But even without them I'm sure we'd still love it, just for the gettin'-the-Hell-out-of-town aspect of it.
