I have a couch you could crash on...my apartment is roughly a 40-minute train ride from South Station. I've always wanted to meet a fellow FSMer. smile

Ha, ha...good point. But I only use booze in social circumstances. I think several of my FSM friends here (that I've met in real life) can vouch for that. smile

Thor is indeed not in any way a problematic drinker. We shared a few pints socially but he never got out of hand. That shouldn't scare anyone away.

Thor:

It's possible that this, in your profile, scared away some offers of assistance:

Over these last couple of years, I've almost stopped buying soundtracks (except for completist reasons) and used my skimpy financial resources on social activity (read: booze) instead. But my interest has not really faded, so I aim to pick up the buying activity eventually.

Sometimes one can be too honest for your own good! Best of luck. Don't need to remind you, being from Norway, to dress warm! And this really SHOULD have been moved to Non-Film Score Discussions.

I don't think anyone here would turn down Thor for fear of him being a drunken maniac. He is pretty open and good humored about his love of a drink.. here and there ... and he did meet up with other FSM members in LA without ending up in jail or being deported razz

We have a spare bedroom that is always open and welcoming to any FSM members traveling from overseas. But, I'm in North Carolina, so am kinda out of the way ... nothing movie music oriented is happening here.

As someone who housed Thor for a couple of nights and taxied him around town, I can unequivocally vouch for him. He is polite and his appearance is clean. And we never listened to any film music that I can recall.

And he doesn't use a retoucher on his photos. His skin really is that clear! big grin

***

Seriously, though, I would encourage Thor to heed my past recommendation, if $50 a night for a shared room is not too much (they also have private ones for more) at the place I stayed at in July, but he's probably tired of me hounding him about it....

He, he...I'm too old for big dorms. But I realize now that very few -- if any -- FSM posters live in Boston, so I think I have to give up this particular idea. I see that the hostel 40Berkeley still has a couple of singles rooms with shared bathrooms. Guess I'll go for that if I decide to go.

Sorry for posting this here and not on the non-film score side, but I needed to go out as broadly as possible; plus I think all event threads related to our membership and film music concerts (in this case the Williams one) qualify as on-topic.

If I decide to go (I need to get $3200 from somewhere), I'll post a new thread about possible get-togethers -- both in Boston and New York.
