I already have Fellowship and Return of the King complete recordings but can't find Two Towers anymore on the web (except maybe ebay at 200$-300$). Anyone has information about this title? Maybe OOP? The two other titles are available and easy to find.
Q: I can't find some of The Complete Recordings sets at the moment. Have they been discontinued?
A: No. The demand for these sets has continually surpassed expectations. From time to time, supplies run out. It's frustrating to all of us, I assure you. When supplies deplete, Amazon will inaccurately list the set as "discontinued." Secondary market dealers will often charge exorbitant fees for The Complete Recordings when Amazon posts this listing. I strongly advise potential buyers to exercise patience and avoid these unscrupulous sellers.

This is correct (as far as my experience goes). I experienced this same issue when trying to purchase the complete FELLOWSHIP recordings last year or in 2011. Whatever you do, don't pay the ridiculous secondary market prices! After three to four months of patiently waiting, it finally came back in stock and I purchased it at the normal price from Amazon.
This one has seemed to be not available for such a long time. I've been looking for this ever since the Hobbit was making it's way into theaters and still haven't had any luck. I should try to contact the distributor (WEA, I think) and find out if there are any plans to re-press more copies of this in the near future. It's obvious they are in demand. I'm surprised that they weren't all available when the Hobbit score was released.
I had the same experience of Amazon saying OOP, but then a repressing would take place and copies would again be available. This actually happened to me with all 3 sets -- so it took some time to collect the entire 3-box set. I resisted the urge to pay more with one of the resellers -- and am glad that I did.
Thanks for the thread Zardoz. I've been pining for this set for a long time now too, having been lucky enough to get FotR and RotK at around the $70 USD range each. Hopefully TTT will be available again soon!
For what it worth, I received that answer from Warner Music Group (customer service fo their store) regarding the availibility of TTT complete recordings:
We routinely update our stock levels, and we cannot currently give you an exact date for when that product will come back in stock. However, check our digital store front often to see our ever changing selection of products. Thank you for your support! Warner Music Group Customer Service

It's out of stock on Amazon again (it wasn't as of last week or so, which is probably why Marketplace copies aren't skyrocketing yet). But again, it's not OOP and it'll be back eventually. If they go completely OOP, I'd bet Doug lets us know through some venue - maybe not here but on his blog or Twitter.

EUR 5.947,34 LOTR: Two Towers (complete) + EUR 3,00 Shipping ---------------------------------------------------- = EUR 5.950,34 Total (= $ 8.187,07)
(Nothing new here, really. I'm just calculating my money for christmas gifts.)
EDIT: Almost forgot, this one's shipping from the US. Means I'll have to add another 10% for customs duty. Oh well, maybe I stick with something else. A pair of socks, perhaps?
