Some tracks has a "familiar" feel to it, like you have heard it somewhere else before.
Yeah, like a James Horner score.

"Get Lucky" has a nice retro groove. Best single of the year of what I've heard so far.
But, speaking of synth/electronic dance music, I'm really looking forward to Pet Shop Boys' "Electric" album this summer. From what I've heard, it sounds like they're deliberately going back to their EDM roots. "Thursday" featuring British rapper Example has a mid-1980s PSB feel to it.

I don't know- Tron felt like the 2nd coming of Jean-Michel Jarre, and this just feels like a look back at disco.
I like both of those things quite a lot (and it's good to see Moroder, Williams, and all the rest). But I already know where to get those things, I don't need Daft Punk to warm it over for me.

I haven't listened to the rest of the album, but I've really been enjoying hearing "Get Lucky" on the radio this summer. Always brightens my day when it comes on, and fortunately it's been getting quite a bit of airplay.
I seriously need the Tron: Legacy sequel to get here already...accompanied by another exceptional Daft Punk score, of course.

Mein Gott, man! Listen to the whole album, post haste!  It's one of my favorite non-score albums of the year (film scores only comprise about 20% of what I listen to, anyway). If you like "Get Lucky," the rest of the album has a similar vibe.
Also, let me just say that I love this line from "Giorgio by Moroder":
"You want to free your mind about a concept of harmony and music being correct, you can do whatever you want."
That pithy summation is why I find it easy to enjoy all kinds of film scores.
