Now that I have a working turntable again, I've been revisiting my LPs.

Today I dug out Mask by Vangelis, which I haven't heard in probably 15 years. There are two standout bits on the album that I'd forgotten all about, one on each side. The rest is pretty typical mid-eighties Vangelis.

Speaking of which, the next Vangelis LP I'll spin will be Soil Festivities.

But first, a little Hawaii Five-0.

Haven't played MASK in a while. Thanks for the nudge.

I'm glad you saw this post, Thor. You were exactly the person I was thinking of when I posted.

Mask is one Vangelis album I haven't heard yet.

One of his last albums before he searched for a more marketable sound.

Only just noticed this thread! I love parts of Mask but it is overall a bit minimalist for my tastes. The middle section of Mvt. 1 is gem however, a lovely interlude for solo female voice and warm synth harmonies. Mvt. 3 is quite arresting too - kind of like "Heaven and Hell meets Blade Runner" with a Bernard Herrmann influence.
