JWFan's own Jim Ware has posted a report from last night's Star Trek: Live To Projection concert in Lucerne which indicates that Giacchino (who was in attendance) will score not only Brad Bird's upcoming film Tomorrowland, but also one of the upcoming Pixar films!

Read his full report here: http://www.jwfan.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=22678&p=895465

The Good Dinosaur seems like most likely guess.

The Good Dinosaur seems like most likely guess.

It would be if Thomas Newman hadn't already gotten that gig. I'd bet on him scoring Finding Dory as well, which leaves Inside Out.

The Wikipedia link above says "On March 12, 2013, Thomas Newman revealed that he is composing the musical score for The Good Dinosaur." http://www.thedolphinlmc.com/arts-leisure/2013/03/14/film-composer-thomas-newman-discusses-the-art-of-film-scoring/ Has he already been replaced? smile

Surely this means he's too busy for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes?

I had the chance to interview Giacchino yesterday, where he confirmed that the upcoming Pixar project hasn't been spoken of yet: http://owley.ch/2013/04/13/interview-mit-michael-giacchino

MG: The next thing I'm working on is Jupiter Ascending, with the Wachowskis and then also Tomorrowland, with Brad Bird. I'm excited about both of them, because they are friends and it'll be a lot of fun. Also, there is a project I cannot tell you about. And, a future Pixar thing. I can't tell you about that either.

Owley: So, is that a project that hasn't been spoken of yet?

MG: Yeah.

can anyone identify the music? It definitely sounds like it could be from the score.

Or it sounds like every other piece of generic trailer music from the past 10+ years.

So in other words, you can't answer the question, right?

Just as sure that it could have been written by anyone as he was about it "definitely" sounding like it could be the actual Giacchino score.

And here's a 10 second teaser for the 30-second commercial that will run during the Superbowl

Super Bowl commercial, revealing much more about the movie than that first teaser did

The music in the spot is from JNH's Lady In The Water, btw. Can't wait to hear Giacchino's score to this!

Tomorrowland by Michael Giacchino begins recording today!!!!

SOURCE: Brad Bird tweeted the following yesteryday:

Can't wait to start recording @m_giacchino 's TOMORROWLAND score -- TOMORROW!

On September 24th, Giacchino tweeted this:

Okay folks... here's a shot from our first recording session of TOMORROWLAND (taken by @BradBirdA113 ). More to come!

https://twitter.com/m_giacchino/status/515234417388695552

That was probably just a teaser / trailer cue, or some other such early stuff. Seems as though the main recording sessions begin today - which falls in line with this tweet from Giacchino on Sep 4, which indicated he'd be writing Tomorrowland in November

@m_giacchino Hello! Will you conduct the orchestra in Paris in november ? smile

@cloneweb - sadly no - I'll be home working on Tomorrowland and Inside Out.

Tomorrowland aka Disneyland. Although I really don't think the commercial needs to be of feature film length.

So 5 days of recording, then.

I am loving Brad Bird's enthusiasm for Giacchino's work. Their previous collaborations have been great and I imagine this one will be as well.

CANNOT WAIT!
