Actually . . . after some thought I'm thinking that's more like Christophe Lambert than Brando. I mean, like, "who wants to live forever" might as well have been Boney's lesson of the day, like, on most days.
I would like to see the version that Brando tried to talk Donner into making.
Where Marlon played Jor-el as a pretzel or a bagel, something like that. Donner mentions it in the one of the film's commentary tracks. Brando just wanted to do a voice-over. I think Brando explained to Donner that the Krytonians would be so advanced that they could turn themselves into pretzels or bagels and still communicate. I think he wanted them to animate it and thus he would just have to provide voice-over.
Yeah it sounds weird, but Donner said Brando would do anything not to have to do anything and get paid big bucks.
On THE FORMULA Brando demanded to be paid in cash at the end of each shooting day and would not learn his lines, thus only doing the picture if they put an earpiece in his ear and someone would feed him the lines right before he had to say them.
