Probably one of my last few Holy Grails. In my opinion one of Burwell's finest scores and prove that he can score more than small independent films. I would love to see a 2 disc version of this one, one disc for Burwell's original take and the second for the remixed version that ended up in the film.

What are the possibilities that one of the Specialty Labels (La La? Intrada?) picks this one up.

A GREAT Burwell score, a shame it never got an official release. I would definitely buy a copy.

Certainly a score of his I would like to add to my collection along with Psycho III. Probably one La La Land would do I think, although I read on Carters site that a lot of his scores never make it to CD due to union/re-use fees making it hard to recoup costs.

Not the biggest Burwell fan, but I quite liked this score. I have an "unmentionable", but it doesn't feature the guitars.

Kalifornia is my favorite Burwell though.

I have been in love with the score since the first time I saw the film back in 97. The First Blood-esque approach that Burwell took to the Willis character is so damn cool. That up and down theme (much like the Rambo "B" theme) he created works in so many cool ways like montages and the amazing final chase cue through the sewers. I would flip out if someone finally released it. It's such a good action score and my #1 favorite Burwell score.

This is probably one of the last great orchestral and thematic old fashioned score (except of course for the electronic overlays) before things really started to change into the more wallpaper type sound.

Someone please put this on CD!!!!!

The Jackal is one of many favorite scores among all the ones he have done. Other ones like Fear and the brief Airheads are worth mentioning and they are all unreleased.

Fear is indeed a wonderful, and sadly unreleased, Burwell score. Really love the percussive main theme. Remember recording the end titles on a cassette.

Now that one of the specialty labels have finally shown some love for Burwell, hopefully somebody (LLL? Intrada? Quartet?) will also look into this one (and while I'm at it, Fear would also be nice)

Was listening to the samples on Carter's site. Really good stuff, has to be worth a release, surely?

I fully agree that this should have been released for ages, but given what Carter Burwell has written on the work process, I wonder if anyone has ever heard if Burwell himself wants it released? (see "Carter's Notes" in the above link for details)

I would like to see and hear the whole Burwell score for "It Could Happen To You"
The two pieces included in the soundtrack left me wanting for more.....

It's my favorite Burwell score, just gorgeous. He has a number of other cues on his website. I'd kill for a complete score release, but since he's not a big seller, and comedies are apparently not big sellers either, I'm not holding out hope. frown

I love how candid Burwell's notes are. Wow!

This is such

a truly KICK-ASS score:

Our favorite alongside Mr. Burwell’s majestic “Rob Roy”.
