I saw it last Friday. LIked the movie and all the actors gave great performances.

Ford was great but I couldn't help hearing and seeing Grandpa Indy in there. He just didn't run around very much or have a whip this time. Actually he was very very good! The actor playing Robinson was quite good and all the supporting bigots and such were on their best bigot game.

Enjoyed Isham's score in the film and I think as someone mentioned somewhere, don't know if there is much of a main theme. The music got rousing near the end, reminding me of Randy Newman's THE NATURAL crescendos from the old days.

It was a very good movie enhanced by a decent and appropriate score!

One of my fave scenes was when Robinson told the gas station attendant they would get their 99 Gallons of gas elsewhere.

Worth seeing definitely!

Hey zoob, does 42 have any "Americana" style cues in this score or any discernible melodies (remember those?).

I thought the movie was really good. Harrison did a fine job. Music was definitely evident and quite loud in places. Some would probably say the music was over emotional, and maybe it was. Isham's score constantly tapped into all the emotions displayed in this movie, hurt, love, heroism, etc. Maybe it was manipulative, but I liked the music and movie. On the other hand, the score did not have a discernible theme, which I missed. I liked the theme from Isham's Invincible, and I think this scored needed an actual theme. I did like the train sequence music.

I do encourage people to see this movie and to witness an important slice of life in America in 1947.

It just got an A+ from the CinemaScore research firm, so I'd say that the people attending it have liked it very much.

Same sentiment here. passable entertainment, nothing much new to offer.A honest true vision of the time would be helpful not a twisted liberal vision of the time from Hollywood.

I haven't seen the film, since I have no interest in American baseball. But I have the soundtrack, which I think is fine. Typical Americana.
