Maybe the sound clips will change my mind but, main titles aside, I've never liked FIRE BIRDS much. Too bland. Still, a David Newman CD is a David Newman CD, so...yay. P.S. I'd have also thought MALONE was his first action score. I`m sure you`ll change your mind when you`ll hear the amazing action cue THE BIG BATTLE which is among the most furious orchestral tour de forces I`ve ever heard , the playful pizzicato cue FIRST FLIGHT, the tender electronic cues that feature the beautiful love theme, the memorable electronic cue PLAYFUL COPTER, the drum machine driven action cue JEEP DRIVE, the playful cue VACATION and many more cues that make FIREBIRDS an incredible musical experience.

"It's possible one of them could be Days of Wine and Roses by Henry Mancini and the other might be David Newman's Fire Birds. Two different scores...but you'd only know for sure if you showed up Monday." Damn Roger and his cryptic clues! What can these hints mean????

Well, okay, but he was clearly having a little fun. Can you imagine if they turned out not to be those two? They've never lied. Okay, might not technically be a lie… but in the spirit of the statement, he's telling us those are the titles. If you read into "possible" as "it is" , well then you are right and this is true evidence that people only read into things to what they wamt it to be, not what it actually says...POSSIBLE (AS IT MIGHT BE AND IT MIGHT NOT BE)

And the other is FIREBIRDS (aka WINGS OF THE APACHE) by David Newman. I don't think any soundtrack collectors can begrudge his fans their occasional new release.
