British distributors Second Sight Films have revealed that they are preparing a Blu-ray release of director Walter Hill's Streets of Fire (1984), starring Michael Paré, Diane Lane, Willem Dafoe, and Rick Moranis. However, the distributors are yet to reveal a preliminary resale date.

Good news for the U.K. I'd love to see a U.S. Blu-ray release. My HD-DVD copy is one of the few reasons I'm still holding onto my HD-DVD player.

My only recollection of Streets of Fire is that it was a very u memorable movie. The trailer looked terrific but the movie was just a major let down.

I remember picking up a making of video from the Plaza back in the days when the cinema had a movie shop.

German label Koch Media has officially announced and detailed its upcoming Blu-ray releases of Walter Hill's Streets of Fire (1984), starring Michael Paré, Diane Lane, and Rick Moranis, and Paul Schrader's Cat People (1982), starring Nastassja Kinski, Malcolm McDowell, and John Heard. The two releases will be available for purchase in Germany on November 8th.

i agree with mike j. A lot of hype but a most disappointing film.
I think i got video out in 84 sometime and struggled through it.
wouldnt want to see it again i dont think.

It's not a great movie, but it is definitely watchable. I love the music. Fortunately, I have a region-free Blu-ray player, so I went ahead and ordered this. Outside of the movie itself, I'm really interested in seeing the documentary.
