To me it sounds like JB's music was slightly expanded in the blue ray edition. But it is done so masterly that I could be wrong.

No marc, you're right. Have a look at the YouTube link I posted earlier today and you'll hear Ian Pickford talking, at about the 15-min mark, about the sound problems on the Japanese reels and having to artificially extend some of the music cues in order to bridge the additional visual material.

Slightly off-topic, but just in the last few weeks, some kind soul has uploaded quite a lot of the "Making of..." documentaries which were issued with the Blooze for CURSE OF FRANK (again David Huckvale covers James Bernard's score in it), BRIDES OF DRAC, THE MUMMY, THE DEVIL RIDES OUT etc etc.

Lots of great things there for those of us who love that stuff!

I just want to mention that on the Film Music Midi Group on FB, the complete score to Horror of Dracula is being reconstructed from James Bernard's original hand written score. About 5 cues of 24 have been put up and it sounds amazing. Again it is midi, but the chance of any Hammer music being rerecorded by an orchestra is slim indeed. Any Hammer Film music fans should deffiniey check the page out!
