Yeah, I think a lot of fans built Kane Hodder up into something he wasn't quite. I don't dislike his Jason, I just never saw what was supposedly the big deal, other than being the only person to him multiple times. Part VI's Jason is, I think, the best, and my personal favorite. Funny enough, the actor who played him (C.J. Graham) is now Vice President at a casino here in California, not too far from where I live. The local news even did a story about it in 2010 when he started. I have the "Crystal Lake to Manhattan" box set, because I enjoy all those original eight films to varying degrees. I like Freddy vs. Jason a lot, too. The only ones I outright dislike and don't care to own are Jason Goes to Hell and Jason X. And the remake, which I thought was terrible and nothing at all what a Jason movie should be like.

It was a series of fine films but I have a warm spot for Jason goes to Manhattan, which I think was no 8.

Well, I have a soft spot for Part 5, but that's probably because it was the first of the series I ever saw, and I saw it in my local 1600-seat cinema (now sadly demolished and much missed) in an otherwise empty auditorium - I was the only person there. I've never bought the box sets: I only have the first six on individual DVDs because after Part 6 I thought they were pretty rubbish, even by mindless teenslash standards. Also Harry Manfredini's scores are terrific. Part 4 I used to rate as one of the best, but the last time I watched them I ended up preferring Part 2 for some unknown reason.

Ok, gigantic F13 fan here so I'll try not to ramble on and on...I could talk all day about that lovable ol' rascal Jason and his merry adventures! Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter is my third favorite in the series, right behind Friday the 13th Part 6: Jason Lives and my absolute favorite Friday the 13th Part 2. So much to love about TFC: (1) Ted White was a pretty great Jason. Even though CJ Graham is my favorite, White was definitely threatening and menacing. (2) Joe Zito -- not crazy about the guy but he did this film a terrific service. Along with the writer I really loved how he tried to make the doomed teens in this film likeable and relatable for the most part (as thinly drawn as they may be). Take Sarah for example...one of the sweetest girls in the entire series, and her relationship with Doug is pretty touching. Even though her teen plight is rather generic, she really imbues her character with a certain true sweetness, making her murder all that more devastating. The filmmakers' goal with TFC was to make the characters as real as possible, thus making their demises that much more horrific. Sarah was a great example of that. (3) Crispin Glover and Lawrence Monoson were terrific fun. Their "dead f***" conversations (and of course Glover's "dead f*** dance") were very amusing stabs at teenage banter. Both characters had terrific death scenes. (4) A Crystal Lake-ish setting! So important, so important. Friday the 13th: Part III stumbled colossally by setting their location in northern California that looked nothing like Crystal Lake from the first two films, or even the following four films. The wilderness and lake in TFC were used for great effect. (5) Rob Dyer...even though his death is laughable (albeit with respectful intention by the filmmakers and actor) he is a really cool character, bonding with Tommy and out to avenge his sister Sandra's (F13 II) death. (6) The dual-house motif. This conceit was pretty integral to the action, particularly in the third act, and was such an interesting staging effect that the dual-house motif was re-used in Friday the 13th VII: The New Blood. Trish, Jason, Tommy running from house to house and back again, caught in a loop of bloodshed and mayhem, kept the final action fresh and fun. (7) Great use of rain! This aspect is so important to the F13 films, always has been. Final act rainstorms in F13, F13 II, F13 IV, and F13 V (not to mention opening rainstorm in F13 VI) really were a staple of the films for awhile, and Zito used rain, thunder, and lightning terrifically in the third act, adding a palpable layer of imagery and sound to the mad proceedings. (8) Little things...like how TFC actually showed grieving families. At the beginning, before the morgue scene, the camera pans quickly by a waiting room with grieving, sobbing family members. Rarely, if ever, in these films is Jason's horrible legacy shown in its after-effect, and I liked how showing grieving family members made the stakes a little higher and the events of part III not so easy to forget. (9) I thought the teen victim ensemble was great. It really felt like an authentic group of friends, no doubt established in part by the amount of time the cast spent together before filming to develop that bond. They all seemed like a realistic group of friends, which again made them all getting wiped out more unsettling. Having said that though...I can't stand Trish! She is the least attractive final girl from the entire series, and her guttural verbal exclamations are so annoying ("Rob!!! Rob!!! He's here!!!" is like nails on a chalkboard to me). Or when she's watching Tommy hack up Jason and, in disbelief and horror, she kind of almost sticks her hands in her mouth? Ummm, ok. On a side note, I also love F13 V too because it's like a demented, loud carnival ride through insanity. I think it's so reviled is because of its technical Jason-less-ness. Also, I really liked the remake a lot. End for now!

Deputy, I always love reading your posts - your knowledge is staggering and impressive. Well done good sir! Well when it comes to F13 I have trouble finding my off switch, I'm sure most around here know by now!

Three more reasons why TFC is the cat's pajamas: (10) Has the best pre-opening credits montage sequences of the whole series, summing up the first three films. (11) "Jesus Christmas! Holy Jesus God Damn! Holy Jesus jumping Christmas shit!" (12) Savini

(11) "Jesus Christmas! Holy Jesus God Damn! Holy Jesus jumping Christmas shit!" Even funnier when you realize it's Rabbi Glickman from Seinfeld. Of course!

The FINAL CHAPTER of all the F13th movies this is the one that did it the best i.m.o First off, let me start with JASON. Ted White plays Jason as a brute but still human force and as a relentless killer with no remorse but still plans his killings and place the bodies in all the right ways. His scene with Trish when he his hunting her from house to house toying with her like a cat to a mouse is frightening. Second , we have Savinis FX that is pure genious and we have alot of great killings in this part with my fave being the spear impaling one of the twins (it´s like a porno movie for the warped ones *LOL*) The main title with the flying hockeymask exploding to Manfredinis maintheme is the best this series have (Jason lives comes a close second) the setting with the Jarvis house and the other "party"house is excellent. The direction from Joseph Zito is top notch and his best work along with the Prowler and Missing in Action. One thing I still wonder about is: What happened to Gordon the dog? Did he jump out through the window or did Jason chase or throw him out of the window?? Atleast i´m glad they released that deleted scene where Trish finds her mom And DEPUTY, you´re wrong about Trish, alongside Pam (from part 5) , Terry (from part 2) , Vera (Part 3)and Megan (Part 6), she is definitly in the top 5 of most attractive ladies in the serie. (Then we have rennie (Part 8), Rowan (Part X), The twins (Part 4), Debbie (Part 3), Ginny (Part 2) Brenda (Part 1) and Tamara (Part8) to name others and let´s not talk about all the fine ladies in the remake too (yummi)

But sir you are wrong about Trish. I hate to say things like this, in fact I never do, but she has like...horse teeth. A horse face. Anyway you are right about the rest of the ladies in the series but you should hide in shame for omitting: Vicki (2), Robin (5), Debbie Sue Voorhees, Vicki (9), and oh yes the hot Janessa from X (the one who screams "this sucks on so many levels" which is a hilariously cheesy line). You did include Terry from part 2 as well as the adorable and feisty Ginny so you get a pass
