Since it's the 40th edition of the festival, there'll be surprises they told me.

One of which is that this anniversary will be celebrated with no less then 40 composers.

So far, this is the programme:

16 October: 40 composers event
17 October: Scorsese concert
18 October: film music seminary (usually with one of the attending composers)
19 October: World Soundtrack Awards

More information at www.filmfestival.be
And at www.worldsoundtrackawards.com.

Is anyone from FSM going to be in Ghent?

Last year Lawrence joined the MainTitles pre-concert dinner at the very last minute. big grin

Music selections span entire career. From Raging Bull to Taxi Driver ...

I know that he doesn't churn out masterpiece after masterpiece anymore but to limit his entire career to five years is a bit hard imo.

I am definitely curious about that 40 composers event but there is even no mention of it on WSA website... although considering how close it is to the Horner concert in Vienna and how expensive that one will be, I doubt I'll be able to afford it.

But when there is more information announced, I'll definitely give it some thought.

Me too, that's just what I got from the press guy which I have contact with. But he couldn't tell more yet. I was guessing perhaps it could perhaps be a 35th anniversary concert of Varèse that's going around Europe right now.

I will let you know more when it is announced.

That's why I added the dots. I should've added another 'to' ...

The 40 composers event still baffles me, can't wait for the line-up to be announced.
