"Two new releases will be announced this week. Both are expanded releases of two amazing works from two real Maestros, which fortunately are still with us. One is from the sixties, and the other from seventies. One of them is actually the first official edition..."

A score that is both expanded and a premiere? So there was a boot of an incomplete version of the score I guess? Or an official LP but unofficial CD?

Any chance of either being a Williams?

Oh, I didn't think of that! Would a previous pairing with another score make a new release of a score be the first "official" one?

"... two real Maestros, which fortunately are still with us ..."

I'm horrible at these guessing games but given the clues I'm thinking a Morricone *has* to be one of them.

Sebastian by Jerry Goldsmith? He is no longer living, sir.

Schifrin, Bacalov, Morricone, Williams, Legrand, Jones, Ortolani, Grusin, Thorne, Bacharach.

Those are the composers from the 1960s that I can think of off the top of my head that are still with us.

Those two would do just fine. But I'm dying for a Delerue.

Morricone, Bacalov or Francis Lai I hope. Actually I do not know so many well known Italian or French composers from the 60s still alive. So, no Piccioni or Trovaioli this time.

It actually does not state that the first "official" release concerns the 1960's score.

If one of them is by Morricone I'd love it to be an expanded (and with improved sound) edition of ORCA (1977).

And how the Hell I could forget Francis Lai is beyond me. I'm one of the few fans of his work on here.

... and Hope to Die (1970) perhaps?

Recently saw the flick and the score left me pleasantly surprised.

I'm well aware of that my good gentleman.

Quite a number of folks to consider who are still alive.

I believe both Roman Vlad and Richard LaSalle were both born in 1919 & still with us.

Here's a handy list (not fully comprehensive, mind you, but rather thorough if I may say so)

born during the 1920s

Dudley Simpson (1922)
William Kraft (1923)
Kenneth V. Jones (1924)
Gerard Schurmann (1924)
Antoine Duhamel (1925)
Ivo Malec (1925)
Johnny Mandel (1925)
Mikis Theodorakis (1925)
David Lee (1926)
Laurence Rosenthal (1926)
Laurie Johnson (1927)
Jean Prodromides (1927)
Jean-Michel Damase (1928)
Gerald Fried (1928)
Ennio Morricone (1928)
Giorgio Gaslini (1929)
Andre Previn (1929)
Peter Sculthorpe (1929)
Marc Wilkinson (1929)

A lot more born during the 1930s who are still with us, too!

One of my wishes would be for Quartet to release one or more of the Pierre Jansen (1930) scores for Claude Chabrol films.

I think ToneRow when they are referring to "two real Maestros, which fortunately are still with us", without underestimating the value of the composers you posted, they're referring to 2 that are the most known among film music fans.

At least this is what I gathered.
I mean, I am not sure if there would be an announcement like that for a composer that 95% of the people might not know (the majority of which are in your list)..
