Thanks for posting, henry> I thought this title was oop because Intrada'a version is. Didn't know there was yet ANOTHER version available (Riotengine has something like 10 versions of this title ) bruce
Yavar.... The sound on the Intrada release is PERFECT... is the LLL release any better? I honestly don't see how it can be!
I have both and honestly I mainly bought the LLL for the new Jim Titus packaging which I felt was far superior, but I will never give up my Intrada because it came out around the time Jerry passed away and I think is dedicated to him. I do think the LLL sounds ever so slightly better, but honestly it's probably not worth the upgrade unless it's one of your absolute favorites. I agree the Intrada was excellent.
The LLL does have a neat bonus track of the main title sans whistle (the whistle adds a lot of hiss for whatever reason so it was cool to get it without, even though it's an integral component of the music).
Sorry to bring this up but I am listening to La La LandRecords album of BANDOLERO! and found something strange on track 5 named "A Bad Day For Hanging / The Kidnap". At 00:37 there is like a glitch, it looks like missing a brief piece of the music and the orchestra resolves in a strange way.
Anyone else is having this issue? Thanks for your help on this matter.
Bandolero! is a very nice release. Fun, exciting and surprisingly touching music at times (like the Dee's Proposal cue). The film itself is surprisingly enjoyable as well. In part because Goldsmith's score brings it all together wonderfully well.
A question though about the orchestration credit. The La La Land credits Arthur Morton and David Tamkin (not unusual for a Goldsmith score around this time period), but the Intrada expanded release credits Herbert Spencer. So, who actually orchestrated this score?
