Anyone ever have a tune or music piece get stuck in your head when you’re sick? I mean bed-ridden violently ill as in if you’re awake you’re either vomiting or will very soon be. This happens to me on the rare occasion I do get sick like that. The worst two times I can remember were way back in the 70’s and Kiki Dee’s song “I’ve Got the Music In Me” was playing in my head over and over all night, and the same for “Attack On The Helicopter“ from Jaws 2 OST on another occasion. There have been a few other occasions when it happened, but those stand out as being particularly miserable. Anyone?
Yes. When I was a kid, I used to get very sick headaches (probably migraines) and miss school for a day or two.
One time, the song "Teddy Bears Picnic" got stuck in my head. I had it on a record and when I felt better I broke the record and tossed its remains in the garbage.
There's a word for that now; earworm, a tune that gets stuck in your head & just plays all day like a tape loop. And you don't have to be sick. I can understand it when it's tune you've heard on the radio that morning, but sometimes it's a piece of music that you haven't heard or thought about for years. The mystery of the human brain.
When I was a teenager, once in a while I would have bad reactions to MSG. Whenever it happened I would try to nap it off and I would put on the "Images" album by Bowie (I have no idea why that one) to sort of lull me to sleep.
Anyway, to this day whenever I get a sour tummy all of those 20-odd songs flood into my head.
I think I'm coming down with something because that Disco song "More More More" is running rampant through my head. I wouldn't even wish that on a Media Ventures worshiper.

Ron, I used to get those too when I was a child; never missed school, mine would be over in a few hours.

I almost never get earworms, but sometimes I can even predict getting sick when those tunes get stuck.
This happens when I get insomiac. My mind races, gets stuck on some piece of music (no matter how pleasant), races some more, feeds the loop of music, and the spiral continues.
