According to today’s issue of The Guardian newspaper (page 25) Ennio Morricone, Enrico Ciacci, Alessandro Alessandroni, and Bruno Battisti D’Amario are being sued collectively by Maria Rucher, the daughter of the late guitarist Pino Rucher. She says she wants €800,000 owed to her father for not receiving full credit for playing guitar on the Dollars trilogy soundtracks. She first approached Ciacci, Allesandroni, and D’Amario to challenge their claims to have worked on the soundtracks, but was rebuffed by all three. These three individuals then started falling out with each other over who played what, wrote the Italian newspaper La Repubblica. Ms Rucher then took her claim to Morricone, who denied her father worked on the films at all. His recollection is that Allesandroni was used on A FISTFUL OF DOLLARS and D’Amario played on the other two pictures. Ms Rucher is taking Morricone and the three guitarists to court, demanding €200,000 from each. The case is set for 23 May in Rome, and Morricone is expected to give evidence.
