I am thoroughly enjoying this score. "Mind Game 1" has a terrific sci-fi flavor to it, really captures the wonder and awe of the genre. I'm sure it fits the scene perfectly! "Mind Game 2" is also terrific. "Enemy Planet" also captures that sci-fi feel really well; listening to the music it is very easy to picture some wildly imagined outer space vista and with its foreboding, menacing quality really paints a picture of a hostile landscape. "Final Test," "Command School," and "Dragons Win" are very exciting tracks with a strong Jablonsky stamp on them.
Some of the longer tracks are a little slow, although possibly work very well within the film, but didn't engage me enough, like "Ender Quits" or "How We Win Matters," although both tracks do eventually build up to some interesting substance. "Ender Quits" in particular was quite moving at one point.
I have a hard time getting the idea that liberals espouse that we should all respect each other's beliefs and freedom to think what we want. Yet when it comes to someone like Orson Scott Card not agreeing with gay marriage all the liberals say,
"Orson is not allowed to think that or we will blackball him."
This is easy. We liberals choose tolerance over intolerance. That this love of tolerance should extend to tolerance of intolerance might make a sentient robot's head explode, but any thinking person realizes that no one principle can guide us perfectly, and we must make logical choices within this framework.
That said, "liberals" don't think as a unified hive mind any more than all Danny Elfman fans have the same favorite score. We all make our choices. I choose not to support the work of a man who expresses intolerance. I won't be outside the theater trying to block anybody going in, though.

Absolutely. It's crazy how some people are getting bent out of shape over this...absolutely unhinged. And for something that has nothing to do with the film. Give it a rest and channel your emotions somewhere else...this is about film/soundtracks. I'm hoping for a good film.... but I probably wont run out and pick up the score though.
Saw the film today. Jablonsky's score was absolutely generic and didn't stand out at all. Tons of string ostinatos except he doesn't bother with any actual themes over top of them. It succeeds at creating a certain mood sure but it could have been so much more.
I just read the book about 2 years ago and found it merely OK. I was not blown away by it but was undoubtedly floored by the climax. Even so I was not clamoring for a film version of it. Then when I heard Gavin Hood was tapped to write and direct it, I had my misgivings. I found his "Wolverine: Origins" extremely mediocre at best. Hence I felt that "Enders Game" would be just as well.
For the most part "Enders Game" overall succeeds fairly well as a bit of sci-fi hokum. It is not terribly gripping or skillfully executed, by it does have a workman's quality about it and there are several things going for it. No herky jerky camera movements. The effects are well done, even post "Gravity"(which has now set the new standard in CGI, blowing away all others, probably for years to come) and the cast does pretty well. The movie had a HUGE cheese factor potential but Hood steers clear of it and somehow makes characters who more or less play big computer games engaging. The score is pretty good as heard in film and picked my interest in hearing more.
I saw the movie with someone who knew nothing about the story or the ending and was quite surprised when it occurred. We both were not dying to see this film, based on the what we saw in terms of previews, current reviews(overall mixed but leans towards the positive) and the issues with Orson Scott Card himself on his personal beliefs. But we left the movie not feeling jipped by a poor script or poor execution. It is an engaging piece of science fiction with some good action and even some interesting food for thought.
