So Stephen King's Under the Dome is starting next month as a 13-part miniseries, with at least the first episode directed by Niels Arden Oplev (who helmed the original Girl With the Dragon Tattoo). Has anyone heard anything about who might be composing the score for this series?

Great news! I love Snuffy's work for The Stand. Heck, I love every thing I've heard from him really!

Let's hope it gets a score release, like The Stand did.

With Snuffy at the helm, the score for Under the Dome is sure to be a knockout. He is a very underrated, talented and hard-working composer. Can't wait to hear his newest.

My favorite music by him is from Felicity and Kidnapped.

Not surprising, given that Stephen King loved his score for The Stand because it found a fine balance between what the author likes (King's a big fan of guitars, not so much orchestras) and what director Mick Garris likes (he's more of an orchestra guy).

WOW, this is great news! His score for "The Stand" was so epic scoring for TV and spot on, my anticipation for this tv-series has just quadrupled smile

How's this one playing out?
I wasn't a big fan of the book (bloated, with a botched ending) so was hoping the TV series might fix those problems and create something more interesting.
I'm not sure if it's been picked up for showing in the U.K yet, so what do people in the U.S think so far?
I like the Walden scores I've heard in the past. How's his music doin?
Just curious like smile

Seen the first episode. I think it's kinda neat, but nothing that hooked me a lot. I'll see how it develops.

Agreed. The first episode was okay, but nothing special, and certainly not gripping. Since it's only a limited series I'll probably stick with it, though. As for the music: so far, nothing has stood out. Very low-key stuff. It works, but it doesn't really have anything to say. Maybe as the action heightens we'll get something with a bit more oomph.

Liked the first episode but also thought the score was mainly underscore really. I've read the book and this adaptation seems to go for its own take which isn't bad, though there are certainly storylines they kept.

Episode two does have a little bit more to do for Snuffy Walden, and there's (finally!!!) a cue that features his trademark guitar. I hope as the characters get more defined, so will Walden's music. Not a fan of the 'South Park' mocked brass swell ups signifying danger though. wink

Well, you can't have listened closely. His acoustic guitar was featured in a few scenes in the first episode. Other than that, the score was kind of brooding, electronic stuff, without any clear themes.

But I would have loved to see a soundtrack release!
