And even an official Bluray release!! the only way of course for the soundtrack to be released would be together with something else, because as I recall, the actual Horner music must be less than 10 minutes. Probably. Probable? Possibly not. It's not hard to see why this has never been released. It's only a few minutes long, so it would have to be paired with something or many things. Other Disney park themes? Other short Horner scores? (They would likely have to be Disney.) And the underscoring takes a back seat to the two Michael Jackson songs (one of which wasn't officially released until 2004, by the way). You mention Jackson's death, but would that contribute to a single sale of a release of Horner's score? I don't think it would. But of course, anything's possible, and we've gotten tons of releases in the last few years that even a few years before that seemed impossible. So who knows? I saw this again with my kids a couple of years ago at Disneyland. Holy cow, it is one ridiculous concentrated helping of processed '80s cheese! You're not kidding about this, SchiffyM! The movie, directed by Francis Coppola of all people, is an orgy of mid-80s sci-fi velveeda. Such an interesting pop-culture artifact... Captain EO's crew is made up of slightly modified muppets from Jabba The Hutt's palace band (including Max Rebo himself, although he has an extra eye now)... Anjelica Huston appears as an early version of the Borg Queen... and Dick Shawn of THE PRODUCERS fame shows up as the Starfleet admiral (or something). If you own a bunch of Horner, you pretty much own this already. (And no, that's not a slam on Horner.) I know what you are trying to say, however every Horner piece has its own character and built differently. This Captain EO score really has some sounds i can find nowhere else, Specially for the long intro, the bells are very characteristic for this movie. However the use of chords you can easily find in other compositions I agree to that! (I posted this request 3 years ago already!) I mean Horner and Mr. Jackson passed away, what else is keeping this from a release! Attraction dated from 1986, 30 years ago.................and still nothing...........!! My how things have changed so much. I have to believe it will happen eventually. I mean, it's Horner and as long as we have Randy Thornton working with Intrada, and if Walt Disney Attractions can cooperate with Disney Music, I think it must come to pass. PS.
