I've got to admit - I've been reading about James Horner's "danger motif" for years, but because words on page don't hum tunes I still don't know what this motif is supposed to be! I have quite a lot of Horner CDs. Can anyone give me an example to listen for?
Thank you, Josh. I've got it now, lol. Of course I've heard it tons of time - the likening of it to the beginning of Rach's 1st Symphony helps me place it.
Coincidentally, I'm listening to Horner's HONEY, I SHRUNK THE KIDS right now (the Intrada release), and guess what appears 22 seconds into track 4 ("A New World"):
Come on, you gotta love it. The Danger Motif for President!
I think nobody would understand that over here in my city. BTW I love James Horner and it doesn't matter to me he uses this danger motif a hundred times. What is important is the good music he does surrounding this danger motif
