The trailer for this upcoming comedy was released earlier this week and mentions:
"Soundtrack album on WaterTower"

Hopefully this won't end up like The Campaign, which was also announced by never actually materialized. Also... song compilation is still possibility... or has anyone actually seen any more details about this one?

The movie could be actually quite fun... Check out the trailer below:

Bump!

Any chance this one will get the same treatment as The Conjuring? Both are WaterTower download releases and La-La Land is releasing Conjuring on the CD... would be nice to get more Theodore Shapiro after such a long time without any.

OK... second time Watertower announced a Theodore Shapiro album and then nothing happened!

Despite a (to date) $140 million domestic gross. What bullshit.

Maybe they realized all comedy scores are largely the same, especially these days?

Let me ask you: Do you really believe Water Tower is leaving money on the table by not releasing this?

That's disappointing news.

As the old saying goes...

"Dying is Easy, COMEDY IS HARD!"

Comedy scores as a rule don't sell that well.

So, I suspect WATER TOWER looked at the numbers and decided it wasn't worth it.

That's life.

It's not like I'm lamenting the loss of a holy grail or anything, but for a box-office hit like this, you think that WB would, at the very least, consider an iTunes soundtrack.

I'm sure they would if they felt they could make a buck on it. But putting it on iTunes isn't free. And they don't want to lose money. Shapiro is hardly a draw (no disrespect to him), and it's not the sort of score that generally sells well, and by the way, I haven't heard a single comment about the actual music. You liked it, I take it?

A box office hit doesn't necessarily translate to a soundtrack hit.

In the same vein, a box office flop doesn't necessarily translate to a soundtrack flop.

No DINNER FOR SCHMUCKS, but still decent. The scoring for the drug lord was a highlight.

Really, this is 'principle of the thing' griping.
