Another vote for Tom Horn. I wouldnt have thought volume of music was an issue, there is quite a bit in the film. Id rob a bank - and probably even shoot some rustlers - to get this!!!

Looking back, i realize that finding a private edition release, "authorized by the composer," of THE RUNNER STUMBLES, was a trick of fate. Remember I was very moved by the film as a high-schooler and that I liked the score. The LP is okay, but has some issues with drag and speed changes that must have happened during the recording sessions. (This was also the case with a promotional issue of ROBIN AND MARION that I had found.) That being said, a cd spruce-up would be a welcom edition!
You actually SAW THE RUNNER STUMBLES, Soundscope? I think you and I were the only ones! ;-) I had that LP, too, but was never sure whether it was a boot or not. Alas, lost it in a flood years ago. Would love to see a reissue!
I'm curious how the movie would hold up. It received critical brickbats in its day, unfairly, I thought, and especially Dick Van Dyke took his share. But I found it very moving - also read the play afterwards. - and I wrote Stanley Kramer to tell him so, and he quite graciously responded with a personal letter of thanks.
