Totally stealing this link from Lokutus' Daro Marianelli fanpage (thanks man ) On the following page you can listen to 13 streaming tracks from the Hummingbird score.
We've got this film playing in a local arthouse here in Atlanta and I'm tempted just to check it out to see what a Jason Statham film is doing at an arthouse and what Marianelli has done with a Statham movie.

Don't worry it's still a Jason Statham movie that involves him busting heads but with a slight twist. I think the makers were trying for something along the lines of Mona Lisa in style and substance. Not nearly as good as that film sadly but has some moments.

Interesting. Mona Lisa is one of my favorite Neil Jordan films. Great performance by Bob Hoskins. How would this film have been with a lead like Ray Winstone? I can't help but feel he is a kindred spirit to the kind of actor Hoskins is.
Just saw from IMDb that Hummingbird is Steve Knight's first outing as director. I really enjoyed his scripts on the films Eastern Promises and Dirty Pretty Things. Hopefully he's learned only great things from working with Cronenberg and Frears.
Just bought this score online and listening to it now. So far it's really great and I love hearing Dario Marianelli score something a little less serious or dramatic. Although I love his scores for Anna Karenina, Atonement and Pride and Prejudice etc., it's nice to hear him branch out to things like this, Grimm, V for Vendetta and the Return.
Oh how I wish this would get a cd release, would snap it up (again) in a heartbeat.
