Noticed on Movies4Men channel at 9pm (and at 10pm on the plus 1 hour channel) a rare TV showing of Il Grand Duello with Lee Van Cleef is on - famous score by Bacalov. Be warned its in the listings as the Big Showdown.

sky channel 325. If anyone whos interested misses it, if its on tonight theres a good chance it will be repeated same channel within next week or so.

weirdly credits say music composed by sergio bardotti and arranged and conducted by Bacalov, and yet Bacalov has always seemed to get credit for this??? anyone know the situation with this? Was Bardotti the song writer?

Whoever wrote the main theme, may I say it is wonderful and as addicted as can be. Classic melodic theme.

Movies4Men is an odd channel, but it gets props for the time they ran episodes of Cimarron Strip.

Anyone who likes old italian westerns and war films should keep an eye on this channels listings. Il grande duello is showing again early next week and also keoma with franco nero - (think it said monday). im not a big fan of g and m deangelis screaming score however i know there are people who are!

Italian films are so rarely shown these days , especially 60s 70s films its refreshing to find a few - even bad ones. There have been also some war films - last week i saw five for hell by sabata director parolini with klaus kinski and the two guys from sabata - the acrobat Alley cat and his mate who fired the ball bearings off his feet!! Was commando version of sabata! Fairly dreadful but interesting.
