FRIDAY, JUNE 7
SHOVEL READY---Denzel Washington is in talks to star in this movie based on the upcoming sci fi novel set in a bombed-out New York where its residents escape reality by using a virtual reality program. An assassin protects the girl, the daughter of a maniacal evangelist, he was ordered to kill.
PACIFIC RIM---new photo of a model of a Knifehead Kaiju monster from the Guillermo del Toro movie which stars Charlie Hunnam, Ron Perlman and Max Martini.
THE OTHER WOMAN---Don Johnson (MIAMI VICE) is in negotiations to co-star in this comedy movie about a mistress and wife teaming up to get revenge on a cheating husband. Cameron Diaz, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Leslie Mann and Kate Upton star.
Also, a photo was released of Kate Upton during filming.
EMERGENCE---sci fi movie underway from Roland Emmerich (INDEPENDENCE DAY) about an alien invasion "containing hot button science elements" similar to his DAY AFTER TOMORROW.
THE OUTSIDER---Tom Hardy stars in this movie as an ex-POW who rises through the ranks of Japan's Yakuza mob after World War II. Takashi Miike is in negotiations to direct.
INTERSTELLAR---Bill Irwin has joined the cast of Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Michael Caine and Jessica Chastain in this Christopher Nolan movie about space travel using wormholes.
HOT TUB TIME MACHINE 2---Chevy Chase is returning in the sequel, and his COMMUNITY co-star Gillian Jacobs is also joining the cast.
DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES---Freida Pinto confirmed she and James Franco are not returning for the sequel, "The sequel's on, but we're not in it. It’s a whole new cast. It would have been great to [do the sequel], but I don’t know how they would bring our characters back in."
R'HA---sci fi movie underway based on the short film about the R'ha alien species defending itself from another invading alien species. STAR WARS' Rick McCallum and Steve Tzirlin are co-producers.
ARCHIE---live-action movie based on the popular comic underway at Warner Bros. with one plot option involving a zombie apocalypse.
INFERNO---Dan Brown wants Roberto Benigni to star in the movie based on his novel.
THE SHANGRI-LA SUITE---Luke Grimes (TRUE BLOOD) is in talks to star in this movie set in 1974 with two lovers escaping from a mental hospital and traveling to Los Angeles to kill Elvis Presley.
LARRIKINS---DreamWorks Animation comedy movie underway about animals in Australia's outback.
THE TESTING---movie underway on the just-released sci fi novel.
BOARDWALK EMPIRE---Season 4 will premiere on September 8.
ANGER MANAGEMENT---LeeAnn Rimes will guest star as a new love interest for Charlie Sheen's character.
EASTBOUND AND DOWN---HBO announced upcoming Season 4 will be the last.
BRAND X WITH RUSSELL BRAND---FX cancelled the series but is developing a new sitcom with Brand.
NURSE JACKIE---was renewed for Season 6.
THE PUPPET GAME SHOW---new sitcom/competition series from The Jim Henson Company and BBC1 with two celebrity contestants teaming with puppets to win a prize which will be donated to charity.
