Just came back from the theater after seeing it a third time. Despite several plot holes, it's still a very good movie and up to par with the quality that DHX Media normally produces with its TV programs. It's had a successful showing at the LA film fest on June 15th, and due to the film's popularity theaters have had to add more screenings:
http://online.wsj.com/article/PR-CO-20130701-908104.html

^ Proof of that certainly comes in from the story I heard that Seattle initially did not have any screenings of MLP:EG, then after consumer demand a theater decided to add one showing; the showing sold out with the theater having 200 seats.

Given that the film runs a scant 72 minutes, all of the songs and score would fit snugly onto a single disc. So; anyone else here want to get this soundtrack out on CD? Shout! Factory appears to have all of the film's distribution rights (and likewise, they could probably license the soundtrack album rights from Hasbro). Intrada refused to even take a look at the show's soundtrack (a real shame, since they don't know what they're missing), so La-La Land would certainly be the next big contender. And given that Lukas Kendall has talked to Hasbro years ago and failed, he could certainly try again now as they may be under new ownership:

"I always wanted to release some CDs of music from cartoons that I watched as a kid, silly stuff like Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends and The Transformers by Johnny Douglas, an English bandleader, but it was impossible dealing with the copyright owners. Try telling Hasbro they need to let you do a score CD for a $5,000 advance."

Soundtrack album forthcoming. If it's anything like the other one though, it won't have any of the score on it. Bah.
