Did anyone get anything nice for Father's day today?

I was delighted to receive the deluxe edition of John Barry's King Kong after having thought I'd missed the boat on that one.

My 4 year old and 7 month old daughters obviously do listen to their old Dad after all. Mum may have helped them a little bit too........;-)

I suspect they don't know what films are, let alone film scores. And even if they did, they don't have any money to buy me anything. lol

I watched Ride the High Country with my Dad today. What a pair Randolph Scott and Joel McCrea made, and what a glorious score by George Bassman.

I have a wonderfull wife, and she got me the series 2 CD of Game of Thrones and the CD of Giacchino's Star Trek Into Darkness, plus the Blu ray of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Kahn. All after seeing the truly excellent fringe theatre production of John Barry and Don Black's Billy on Saturday afternoon for the second time!

How lucky am I!???

Don't take this the wrong way I am not making this depressing but just acting like a honest observant of things, like a HONEST newsman, FATHER'S DAY THREAD 6 measly comments. A day to remember the good things a father has done over the years in this world. Like many threads of important aspects of life I have tried to start or of substance on things that could be taken much deeper it just vanishes into the engine's oblivion.Sad in a way. Got my dad, [pretty old now], his favorite food.
