I was alerted to this tonight. My first reaction was... wut. Srsly, wat?

Although, it's being done by the directors of Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs (haven't seen) and 21 Jump Street (have seen), so, it could be good.

Also, dat DJ House Remix of Take On Me.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1490017/

Hopefully Watertower will issue a CD when the time comes.

Not the first Lego movie to be sure smile I liked "The Adventures of Clutch Powers" which I thought was well done and had some nice nods to adults (AFOLs)

The new trailer/movie I'm less interested in, thats largely because of the cast but also because they seem to be pushing more into the Robot Chicken style of humour. I'm intrigued that they've gone for a stop motion look. (or indeed is actually stop motion)

Other Lego videos have been done well for instance their Star Wars DVD.

Feel This Moment by Pitbull ft. Christina Aguilera is the song used in the trailer.

I was delighted by Mothersbaugh's score to Cloudy. I'm hopeful he is similarly inspired to write some great music for this film.

The movie actually is (mostly) CGI, but intentionally done in such a way as to evoke stop-motion, and it might use a little actual stop-motion at some point; I'm not sure about that. From the early reports, it's apparently going to have some live-action as well, though I don't know if that's how it will end up (no sign of it in this first trailer, obviously).

I'm looking forward to this. I wouldn't expect it to be that Robot Chicken-esque, if simply because it's very much intended as a squeaky-clean, family-friendly movie, and some of the more adult humor of RC wouldn't fly.

And my initial reaction music-wise is that Mark Mothersbaugh is well-suited to the project, and I'm looking forward to hearing his work.

Movie looks awful, but Cloudy with. . . and 21 Jump Street were both surprisingly fun, so I'll give it the benefit of the doubt.

Well, for big LEGO fans like myself, there are a lot of in-jokes and references in there that show somebody did their homework. Note the cracked chin-strap on the classic '80s spaceman's helmet, for example. The chinstrap on that old style helmet was a bit thin, and vulnerable to doing just that. LEGO discontinued that old helmet part decades ago because of this issue, and uses its closest analogue, a more motorcycle-styled helmet, as a replacement on vintage reissues of the old classic spacemen.

Joe E., Is your house full of tons of LEGO sets like mine? wink

Apparently there are a whole series of Logo movies in the vein of the Clutch Powers movie- Star Wars Lego movies, superhero Lego movies and such.

This appears to be something apart from those, but similar in humor and concept.

Indeed, I have several shelves of little Lego kits (with my eye on several more I wish to own). I still miss the big construction Creator kit in yellow and black I had as a kid.

This looks great and the filmmakers behind this also made the dangerously under-recognized animated TV series Clone High. I am sold by the trailer and Mothersbaugh's involvement.

Feel This Moment by Pitbull ft. Christina Aguilera is the song used in the trailer.

Eh, I'd much rather take the original any day.

Do you mean a-ha's "Take On Me"? That's one of the songs I allegedly grew up with and I love it, but the snippet of "Feel This Moment" may be better-suited for its use here, in the trailer (there's no telling whether the actual movie will use either song, of course).

Wow, really? I remember Clone High. Still get a laugh whenever I think of JFK in that. "I er uh, would like, uh, the pahhty plattah!" I'm definitely putting this movie on my list then.

YEEEEESSSSS!! If that's the case Alex, please do yourself a favor and check out the writers/directors' previous animated film Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs! It's a great family flick which includes a lot of the great wit and humor you'd expect from them.

The international teaser, using largely the same material but some additional shots not in the one already posted in the thread:

Well, I had to guess from a muted trailer. That music was so God awful I had to mute it.

Oh, this could be very, very funny.

It's incredible how everything, even the laser blasts and smoke clouds, are made of Lego bricks! It should be a visual treat.

Still looks pretty bad, though the first Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs movie looked pretty bad and was actually fun.
