You know, after years of this board and its members being completely ignored in every possible way, I am finding these postings amusing.

New ownership directive? I mean, sales ARE smart. It's good to see that they've embraced a centuries-old business practice.

I didn't take advantage of part 1, I don't know about part 2 either. Not a huge sale but again better than nothing. I would love to finally get SPARTACUS and a few other club titles. I never understood the complaints by so many forum members against the SPARTACUS release some years ago. The bad sales must have been a blow on Varese's ego, not even half of the 5000 sold. And speaking of club titles... when are we going to see more of those great Varese club title releases??? C'mon Varese, make our day!

... I seem to recall a parchment came fluttering down from the ivory tower after all the comments about the Spartacus set wink

Oh well, I bought Spartacus two (or three ?) years ago so I shouldn't whine.
I'll look for some other title to company FRINGE 5 in my cart.

I took advantage of the last sale and loaded up on all the Club releases I didn't have, except Spartacus. Maybe this time I will grab Spartacus along with all the Lost volumes I don't have.

Anyone who thinks Spartacus has sold 2500 copies should think again. Not quite there and quite is being very nice.

The quality rankings for mid-20th century American orchestral score boxsets is as follows: (1) Star Trek: The Original Series Soundtrack Collection (2) Spartacus: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, and (3) Superman: The Music. Order all and enjoy!

I wanted The Goonies for the longest time and Varese gave me what I wanted so I guess they listened to me smile

Whether Varese has or hasn't responded to folks on this board, that's their decision not ours. I'm not surprised they have been a bit more quiet in years past as many members on this forum can be rather...short and to the point. Saying/typing things that I'm sure they'd NEVER say to a person if they were standing in front of them in real life.

That's my guiding principle. Post stuff as if they were standing in front of you. We can all be a tad bit nicer and appreciative of each other and the great stuff we get. We've been so spoiled for so many years, let's try to not let it go to our heads smile

It's a sale, 20% is a good deal. With so many great CD choices coming our way these last few years, it's nice to see some discounts whether it be Varese or LLL or who ever else. I think we should be saying thank you instead of holding pitch forks.

Varese has given me and the rest of us some of our grails and for that I'll always be grateful to them.

I just wanted to say I look forward to your posts. It is probably because of that guiding principle that I feel this way. Maybe I haven't been visiting the right threads, but I haven't seen you around for a while. Nonetheless, thanks for always being good natured.

Well, Spartacus for $88 is really good offer.
Got this + 4 brothers, Total Recall & Where The Truth Lies (samples was fine, so I decided to get this too).
Thanks, Varese!

I've been very busy, but I've been reading many threads. I should post more and I'll try to. Putting together Fans of Film Music 4 and all that fun stuff. Thank you for the very very kind note and if you are on Facebook check me out, Peter Hackman.

JB Fan, great job on the acquisitions. I really enjoyed the Spartacus box and at $88, that's REALLY a good deal. The track Prelude To Battle: Quiet Interlude is my favorite track. SO SO gorgeous. Enjoy the box set smile

Wow, £30 worth of customs charges on my Varese orders! I guess that teaches me to be greedy when there's a sale on. Good thing I didn't order the Spartacus box as well. The charges on that would've wiped me out.

That's a bummer about those custom charges. Hopefully you picked some really good music that brightens your day smile

My order arrived today. I only ordered on June 30. Grabbed some Giacchino scores. Alias season 1 and 2 Lost season 1 and 2 along with Stripes. Almost pulled the trigger on Spartacus.

"Spartacus (3157 Available)" so grab yours while you still can. I ordered mine when it was released. Fancy box. A person just can't get enough of them variations of love theme. I, myself, am not a person, rather an unidentified semi-organic entity, and my enough-getting can be seen in the expression on my face in my picture on my avatar.
