THURSDAY, JUNE 20

STAR WARS: EPISODE VII---this is an unconfirmed description of the main characters in the movie:

1. Late-teen female, independent, good sense of humor, fit.
2. Young twenty-something male, witty and smart, fit but not traditionally good looking.
3. A late twentysomething male, fit, handsome and confident.
4. Seventy-something male, with strong opinions and tough demeanor. Also doesn’ t need to be particularly fit.
5. A second young female, also late teens, tough, smart and fit.
6. Forty something male, fit, military type.
7. Thirtysomething male, intellectual. Apparently doesn’t need to be fit.

POLTERGEIST---remake underway of the 1982 horror movie with a script by David Lindsay-Abaire (OZ THE GREAT AND POWERFUL). Sam Raimi is the producer.

THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2---Shailene Woodley's filmed scenes as Mary Jane have been removed from the movie. The scenes would have set up the plot for the third movie. Woodley said, "Of course I’m bummed. But I am a firm believer in everything happening for a specific reason…Based on the proposed plot, I completely understand the need for holding off on introducing [Mary Jane] until the next film." Woodley is not expected to play Mary Jane in the third movie.

JAMES GANDOLFINI---his death has left three unfinished projects in limbo. CRIMINAL JUSTICE is an HBO miniseries in which Gandolfini would have starred as a downtrodden lawyer seeking clients in jailhouses. BONE WARS is a comedy movie which would have starred Gandolfini and Steve Carell as rival paleontologists. TAXI-22 is a new CBS sitcom about an irreverent New York taxi driver with Gandolfini as executive producer.

LAWYERS---FX ordered 10 episodes of this untitled sitcom starring Kelsey Grammer and Martin Lawrence about two totally opposite Chicago lawyers who become law partners.

HEMLOCK GROVE---Netflix renewed the werewolf series for Season 2.

THE JUDGE---Sarah Lancaster (CHUCK) will co-star with Robert Downey, Jr. and Robert Duvall in this movie about a successful attorney who returns to his hometown for his mother's funeral and discovers his judge father is the prime suspect in her death.

NOVEMBER MAN---Will Patton and Caterina Scorsone will co-star with Pierce Brosnan in this movie about an ex-CIA spy who is brought out of retirement and is pursued by his former protege.

IN THE HEART OF THE SEA---Cillian Murphy (BATMAN BEGINS) will co-star with Chris Hemsworth in this Ron Howard movie based on the book about the 1820 whaling vessel ESSEX which was sunk by a sperm whale. The survivors were at sea for three months and resorted to cannibalism. The incident was the inspiration for Herman Melville's MOBY DICK.

THE LAST FIVE YEARS---movie underway starring Anna Kendrick (UP IN THE AIR) and Jeremy Jordan (NEWSIES) based on the musical.

ANNIE---Sandra Bullock will not play Miss Hannigan in the Will Smith remake movie after failing to reach a deal during negotiations.

GHOSTMAN---movie underway about an expert who must clean up a bungled casino heist and is caught between a beautiful CIA agent and a drug lord called The Wolf.

VERONICA MARS---Max Greenfield confirmed he's returning for the movie.

LOCKE AND KEY---movie trilogy underway based on the comic book from Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci (STAR TREK).

BAD A**ES---vigilante sequel to BAD A** starring Danny Trejo and Danny Glover will premiere in 2014.

Two of the characters don't have to be fit?

I can finally be a Jedi!

Seventy-something male, with strong opinions and tough demeanor. Also doesn’ t need to be particularly fit.

So this is Han Solo I guess.

Don't read Luke or Lea in the descriptions. Sounds like the young "independent" teen girl is going to be the female version of Luke. (Luke's Daughter?) Which would be interesting since Luke was originally a girl!
