It's too bad that this score wasn't coupled with EDDIE COYLE instead of THREE DAYS OF THE CONDOR as this film is such a close sibling to it. I have no idea if this score is even still retrievable or not. (Or, for that matter, if we'll ever see cool 1970s scores released anymore as the labels have moved on to rotten 1980s and 1990s movies now. big grin)

Some terrific Grusin grooves here along with echoes of carnival music when Jason Miller reminisces about his carny background.

Might have been nice, but as a Fox film, THE NICKEL RIDE wasn't available to pair with a Paramount title.

I second that. I used to write about it at the FSM Daily.

Too bad "Fuzz" is United Artists.

I'd love more '70's Dave Grusin scores!

I'm still waiting for MURDER BY DEATH. If the OST recording is completely gone, then at least a good re-recording. Delightful score!

Maybe they could pair The Nickel Ride up with another Paramount property, like BADGE 373 (1973), which has a score by J.J. Jackson.

P.S. OT What movie is it at the end of this clip with what looks to be Alex Rocco?

Too bad that "Fuzz" is lost according to Lukas Kendall!

Well that makes me all the more grateful for that person recording the music from their TV and uploading it to YouTube.

It looks to be MOTOR PSYCHO (1965), a Russ Meyer film. And that's one of the most ridiculous double entendres I've ever witnessed. "SUCK IT!!!"

Just to be clear, THE NICKEL RIDE is a Fox film, and cannot be combined with Paramount films such as THE FRIENDS OF EDDIE COYLE or BADGE 373. It's the latter two, from Paramount, that could be combined.

And, unfortunately, the only other Fox Grusin score I can think of is also reportedly MIA--MY BODYGUARD. (Have no idea about the status of MR. BILLION.)

Perhaps you can pair THE NICKEL RIDE with another Fox score from the seventies but by another composer.
