TERMINATOR 5---rumors claim Dwayne Johnson is being sought to co-star with Arnold Schwarzenegger. One rumor has the following plot, "One idea being considered...T5 may be a prequel set in the days of Sarah Connor's parents. Schwarzenegger may not play the role of a machine in the next film, but a potentially heroic human figure in or close to the Connor family. One theory is that Schwarzenegger's remarkable ability to protect the Connor family in the 1940s or 1950s with antiquated weaponry by today's standards ultimately inspired the machines to develop a terminator in his likeness that was eventually sent to 1984 when Sarah Connor was first targeted for termination."
CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER---new photo from the filming set shows a nursing home with Hayley Atwell as an elderly Peggy Carter.
THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN---Sarah Gadon (COSMOPOLIS) confirmed she's joining the franchise in an undisclosed role. This led to speculation that Gadon will play Mary Jane in the third movie after Shailene Woodley recently confirmed her scenes as Mary Jane in the second movie were deleted.
INTERSTELLAR---Casey Affleck said he's co-starring in the Christopher Nolan movie about space travel using wormholes. Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Michael Caine and Jessica Chastain also star.
TOMORROWLAND---the two candidates for the lead female role in the secret sci fi movie from Brad Bird (MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: GHOST PROTOCOL) are Britt Robertson (UNDER THE DOME) and Naomi Scott (TERRA NOVA). The lead female role involves a rebellious teenage girl who seeks help from the lead character played by George Clooney. Hugh Laurie also stars.
THE LIFEBOOT---Anne Hathaway is the star/producer of this movie based on the novel set on an ocean liner that is sunk by an explosion before World War I. A woman who was among the survivors in a crowded lifeboat is on trial for murder.
MARVEL'S THE AVENGERS---Robert Downey, Jr. has signed to co-star in the second and third Avengers movies.
INDEPENDENCE DAY 2---the alien invasion sequel will premiere on July 3, 2015.
STAR WARS: EPISODE VII---reportedly, the movie will be filmed at England's Pinewood Studios. Also, the animated tv series STAR WARS REBELS will be set as the rebellion begins against the Empire which has conquered the galaxy and is hunting down the remaining Jedi Knights. Mark Hamill will guest star.
BAD TEACHER 2---the sequel is underway at Sony Pictures although Cameron Diaz has not signed a deal yet.
THE KILL LIST---movie underway based on the upcoming Frederick Forsythe novel involving a Marine, an Israeli agent, a teen hacker and a deadly cleric. Rupert Sanders (SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN) is the director.
IT---Stephen King commented on a possible IT sequel, "I don't think I could bear to deal with Pennywise again. Too scary, even for me." King's sequel to THE SHINING will be published in September.
PARENTHOOD---Ray Romano has signed to appear in 12-15 episodes.
HERCULES: THE THRACIAN WARS---Tobias Santelmann (KON-TIKI) will play the villain in the movie starring Dwayne Johnson.
THE VISITORS---sci fi movie underway starring Freddie Stroma (HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE) in which a group of friends are relaxing in an isolated cabin in the woods where they are terrorized by invading aliens.
CINDERELLA---Helena Bonham Carter will play the fairy godmother. Lily James and Cate Blanchett also star in the live-action Disney movie.
