I dont think I've ever seen a pic or clip of Morricone's desk where it isnt cluttered.
In fact his whole office is rammed to the rafters.
He doesnt - or didnt used to - allow a cleaning lady, in case she disturbed something or moved anything. I imagine it would be like Sherlock Holmes screaming at Mrs Hudson for chucking out fag ash that was part of an experiment!!! But in Italian.
All of which makes sense because, not only is he one those rare practitioners who believes if you don't do your own orchestrations (which amounts to writing out the music for each piece of the orchestra yourself), you are not a true composer but at the same time has the largest resume of film scores out there. No matter how you cut it more than 400 titles. So call him a multitasker, workaholic or genius, if his desk wasn't cluttered I would be deeply suspicious.

...and come to think of it when I add to that the fact he is 84 then this listing I found on the lower shelf at Amoeba Records doesn't sound ridiculous at all.
