Can you think of a scene that is basically 2 people emoting in a melodramatic way that has GREAT music? As an example, I am thinking of the climax to Casablanca where Bogie and Ingrid Bergman have their big scene by the plane.

The opening of the "Star Trek: The Next Generation" episode, "A Matter of Perspective" is unusually melodramatic. Boy, have TV scoring time, for the most part, have changed.

I can also most of the nine-year run of "Dynasty" featured mellow dramatic music.

Oh yeah, there's nothing like Blake telling Crystal she looks tired and should go lay down, for the 69th bazillionith time, with mellowdramatic music.

Absolutely. The nighttime soaps had some of the best stuff as far as what I am looking for! I was big on Dynasty, Dallas, and Falcon Crest. Falcon Crest had some of the nicest music for its time.

One can already hear that in the later TNG seasons...

Dave GrusinĀ“s "Havana". A melodramatic masterpiece. Go directly to the scene at the end when Redford and Olin meet for the last time.
