I'm so glad I got this absolutely brilliant set when I did. I think I paid about $30 for it at the time, and since then it's become a rarity with skyrocketing prices. I'm sorry to hear that some people are taking advantage of its rarity and demand.

I watched this jan hammer shop for years and hesitate for reasons unknown to buy a signed Complete collection set, till today i regret i never bought a set but i refuse to pay these high amounts, i can wait so hopefully this will eventually got an official re-press after they see how high the demand is for these cd's. Too bad the bootleggers saw it first!
I'm very glad I bought this when it was released in 2002.
However, I bought a CD from Gerry Kroll at Soundtrackers called "Unreleased Music from the TV series Miami Vice", which turned out not to be performed by Jan Hammer, but by another nameless guy playing Hammer-compositions. It says "produced by the composer for promotional purposes only, MVJH 1001", but that surely is not correct. The performance is rather poor. It features 20 tracks and is published by "Blue Flamingo Music".
For those not allergic to digital files, you can now find this at Jan Hammer's own website, or on Amazon. That's what I did, and listened to them on my phone during some stressful travel - calmed me down nicely!

What a shame it's only available in mp3. Would love it if this could be made available on CD again or at least lossless downloads. Been watching ebay for years for a legit copy to turn up.
Jan Hammer's stuff can get a bit pricey sometimes. The guy is awesome, though.
Sister Andrea (Mahavishnu) and StarCycle (Jeff Beck) are probably two of my favs by him. There's a great late-70s video of him playing with Al D -- Tour De Force Live. Very cool for the period.
