Stanley Kubrik

Terence Malick

J.J. Abrams

The first two make artsy-fartsy BORING, WEIRD movies, that are considered to be "masterpeices". Right.

Abrams camera keeps moving all over the place, making for a frenetic experience. The first Star Trek was a good movie with awful direction. I didn't bother with the second Star Trek. I was disappointed to see him get Star Wars 7.

John wayne????

Each to their own i guess.

Expect this thread to get zapped withn hours then.

We have some baffling ones in the uk.
The over indulged beckhams for a start.
We also have non celebs that the media push like we are supposed to like them and people have no interest in whatsoever, and without research couldnt even tell you wot they did to make them borderline celebs in the first place.
Kerry katona is one. The other one who springs to mind is a silly girl whose name totally escapes me but she was famously given 300,000 advance on a book of her life before they checked it wouldnt sell 8 copies, 5 of them to her family.

Compared to Paris Hilton, all names listed before are creative arts geniuses.

SHARON OSBOURNE !!!!!
The groupie wife of a lunatic drug-addled rock-star is somehow able the JUDGE talent on one of those hideous TV shows!

Russell Brand
Tracy Morgan
Heidi Klum (I'd much rather have Sharon Osbourne than this bag of boring on any judging panel)
Oprah
Kanye West
the Cardassians (who I still can't tell apart but who all seem to be the butt of every coke whore joke)

oh and the Will Smith kids, can't leave out the Will Smith kids! big grin

Regarding Bradley Cooper, I think he's ok in the Hangover movies, but I got annoyed by the tv airing of the Wimbledon mens final cutting to his reaction every minute! That's reason enough to make the list wink

Coldplay
David & Victoria Beckham
Gwyneth Paltrow ( see Coldplay )
Simon Cowell
One Direction
Wayne Rooney

I think I agree with all of the above posters choices with the exceptions of John Wayne and Stanley Kubrick.

I'll proffer a few more UK candidates:

Eamonn Holmes (and his second wife)
Ant and Dec
Gloria Honeyford
Dec and Ant
Cilla Black
Ant &/or Dec
All and any "bands", boy, girl or mixed, who don't know one end of a musical instrument from the other
That annoying geordie midget double-act with the initials D and A

There are more, but that'll be enough to be going on with.

Christopher Nolan. Just don't get the acclaim. His aesthetic doesn't appeal to me and he treats his audience like idiots.

Christian Bale. People keep telling me he's a great actor, but I don't see it. Certainly he seems to be a dedicated actor, but being willing to bulk up or emaciate yourself for the role doesn't make you great.

Anyone made famous by a reality show: real housewives, Shore natives, fat Southern moppets...to hell with all of them.

Conan. Never got what was so great about him. Was glad he didn't get the tonight show. Not that I think Jay Leno is any better.
