I'm with Dana. I just looked at the board, which lists 50 threads without scrolling. 34 of these were sheetmusicman's posts. Only a couple had viewings in double digits. Maybe they will get more looks with time (or maybe not).

This is getting to the point of clutter. Of course, some folks like them, but really, does each one require a separate thread? I like to see what new topics are up that I might want to look at, but it's a bit of a drag to have to go to a second page to find topics that had posts in the last few hours.

You are up to well over a hundred of these threads now. Could you at least parcel them out to no more than ten a day? 68% of threads coming from one member seems just a wee bit excessive. Or maybe a whole lot excessive, depending on one's point of view.

My friend, like all of us I am sure he is a busy man, You can't expect him to do this all day.I am sure plenty people here enjoy looking at this stuff. In a short while unlike the other side of the board it will wind down to section no 2 and beyond.

From what I am seeing, he IS doing it all day!

I agree with betenoir. Maybe they have some value as archive material -- although the posts don't actually show the sheet music, but the COVERS of them -- so it's not that suited for a discussion forum. A separate thread would be nice. Thanks.

As I mentioned in the other thread: The Trading Post and Non-Film Score boards both host thriving discussion communities. The "Sheet Music Man" threads, despite their quantity and frequency, are the work of a single user (however many people are behind the name) and generate relatively little discussion. They are essentially a narrow-interest database. I would love for this material to exist somewhere on the web, and also for it NOT to displace so much of the main page -- but I don't know that a separate sub-forum here is the best solution.

They should really be on a separate site -- maybe with some of the actual sheet music included instead of just the covers. THAT could be very useful for musicians, I'm sure.

Personally I don't mind his threads, I am interested in seeing these editions for certain composers and I think if you threw it all in one thread it would become unbearable to scroll through and find the composer you like. The way he does the separate threads, they will pop up on composer specific searches and I actually applaud him for spending the time to showcase these.

Maybe limit him to 5 posts a day in order to not clutter up the main page (I'm sure he'd be open to that)? smile

I really enjoy looking at the sheet music covers. I see no problem. Yes they might temporarily clutter the board but if they fail to generate any discussion then they'll drop out of sight pretty quickly. Having them in one thread would reduce clutter but would result in a pretty unmanagable thread.

I agree with Peter; let them stay the way the are.

I will say if this were any other board he would have gotten modded and warned a long time ago. It is quite excessive when 3/4 of the visible threads are these.

Please post these in another area or find another website.

It's called spamming. They should be in one dedicated thread and updated as others have suggested. No reason to flood the board.

No it wouldn't. We have a SINGLE thread devoted to cover art and there are no issues or complaints whatsoever. The thread is updated as new material becomes available, simple as that.

Sheet music is virtually the same thing (just covers) so please explain why their should be individual threads devoted to each composer vs a single thread to house them all?

It make no sense to tailor something to appease less than 1% of the members just because they are too lazy to sift through an individual thread devoted specifically to sheet music.
