Like those early Johnny Williams and Ennio Morricone arrangement albums, which aren't too popular or relevant to what the average film music fan wants, I love to hear the seed pieces that show how these guys evolved. Ordered!
Yes, I'm pleased to see its inclusion (and that of its companion pieces: 2, 3 and 4 and Smokey Blues)
These five pieces have been, to date, my only mp3 downloads ... the things I'll do for Mr. Barry's music! It will be good to replace these inferior downloads with CD recordings.
It's good to see that Geoff has sought to avoid duplicating recordings previously released on the 2CD set The Hits and the Misses (e.g. the fourth Nina & Frederik recording Away in a Manger was on that earlier release).
Thanks for the tip, Peter ! ----- You're welcome, Eva.
I think the significant thing about this CD is that many/most tracks are appearing on CD for the first time. It's not just a release of tracks that have had multiple previous CD releases.
