Claude Bolling´s music is incredible groovy. Thank you MUSIC BOX for releasing La Mandarine/La Revanche CD. I would buy this soundtrack only for "L´attague de la banque" composition but there is lot of more great compositions.
Incidently it sounds like there's a melody in there from the Suite for Flute and Jazz Piano Trio in La Mandarine....though I believe that was written the year after the score...
Got all three without the slightest hesitation. And any label that releases Bolling, Bennett, DeMarsan and Garvarentz is certain to get some of my hard earned cash.
And I was right, getting the CD -- the main theme, in fact, was reused in the suite. Kinda wish the liner notes mentioned this as it's by FAR the thing Bolling is most well known for...
